February 2013

On February 11, 2013, another successful Salon was held by the NYC Region SIG, entitled What are the Questions that Generate Writing?  Using Nonfiction with our ESOL Students

Getting settled in and started after the wine and cheese meeting and greeting around the dinner table

A typical Salon conclusion with new ideas, new friends and happiness.

Hear what some people are saying about the Salon:

“It's so important for us to remind ourselves what it's like to be in the student's shoes.  Experiencing an activity I might ask my students to do gives me a fresh perspective of their experience.  Also, it was great to meet colleagues and bounce ideas around with such a warm friendly group.  As teachers, we are so often isolated from each other in our own classrooms, so it's a wonderful opportunity for fellowship.”  Marcella

“Excellent Salon that made me think deeper about the kinds of questions I ask my students.  Time to do some high-order thinking for my next class!  Good refresher on 4 types of questions.  Friendly, and I feel so comfortable networking and chatting with other attendees.” Angie
